Find your way around the Artillery OCS History website: Taking a few minutes to get familiar with our new website will make it easier to find what you are looking for.
Our goal is a simple and manageable website. Nothing fancy or distracting. We have a lot of content to share and the website is mobile responsive. We are not professional webmasters and will be working to make this a better experience, as we move along.
Most everything from the artilleryocsalumni.com website (which is no longer in service) has been incorporated into this one and as time permits, we update, revise and continue to add content.
We purposely avoid making direct links to other websites and information sources, because over time many of them relocate to a new address, become permanently unavailable or cease to exist. We still have links to Google Photo albums and will be working on an alternative to that shortly.
To give you an idea of where specific topics are on the website there are five screenshots (below) of the navigation bar across the top of each web page. The images show the dropdown menu of sub-pages that pop up when you click on a main page or tap one on your mobile device.
The navigation bar has four main pages and a "More" category: 1. Home 2. OCS Experience 3. Fallen Comrades 4. Hall of Fame 5. More (is not actually a main page but rather a drop down consisting of several individual pages that stand on their own).
Each main page has several sub-pages. 1. On a desktop or laptop clicking on a main page opens a dropdown menu. From there you can choose the page you wish to navigate to.
2. On a mobile device tapping the triple line (“hamburger”) at the top left opens a dropdown menu showing the main pages. If a page has sub-pages there will be a "V" symbol on the right side. Tap the "V" to see the sub-pages in that category.
You can rotate the view on most mobile devices if that helps your experience.
You can go to the Website Navigation page or to the Footer (at the very bottom of each page) and click on or tap the page you wish to go to.
Some website visitors never get beyond what they see on the screen. There is a lot of content that is just a click or a touch or a tap or two away.
There are links to numerous documents and pictures. You will find lists with “greyed out” text (usually a name). Hover over the greyed out text and click on it, or if you are using a digital device tap it and it will open an informative PDF or a photo.
There are also “buttons” (some have a black background with white letters and others have white background with black letters). Hover over them and click or tap to gain accesss.
I hope this has been helpful. As I learn more and have more information to share, I will update it here. Please be patient with us and remember - if you are looking for something and can't find it, send us an email, maybe we can help you find it or create a new page.
Thank You Randy C. Dunham Class 10-69 Secretary
