The Artillery Officer Candidate School Heritage Society
The Artillery OCS History website is maintained by the Artillery Officer Candidate School Heritage Society as part of our mission to preserve the Legacy of the Artillery Officer Candidate School and provide volunteer support to the Artillery OCS Alumni Chapter.
The Artillery OCS Heritage Society was incorporated on October 9, 2019 in the State of Oklahoma and recognized as an IRS 501 (C) (3) organization (EIN: 84-3350360) on October 31, 2019.
The Heritage Society was created for the future-it is a separate and independent organization with a historic and educational mission. It is anticipated that the OCS Heritage Society will continue in perpetuity with the preservation of Artillery OCS History after the Artillery OCS Alumni Chapter fades away.
The Artillery OCS Heritage Society traces its roots to the Society of Graduates of the Artillery Officer Candidate School (established on December 20, 1968). The purpose of the Society of Graduates was: "To publicize the Artillery Officer Candidate Brigade and to honor the heroism and/or exceptional achievement of its graduates; to foster the espirit of the candidates; to recognize the outstanding performance of past graduates; and to perpetuate and maintain the Hall of Fame at Fort Sill." The Board of Governors of the Society of Graduates for the initial meeting on January 24, 1969 were: Deputy Commanding Officer of the OC Brigade. Commanding Officer, 1st Battalion, OC Brigade. Commanding Officer, 2nd Battalion, OC Brigade. The S-2, OC Brigade.
Heritage Society volunteers are busy building this Legacy website to preserve the history of the Artillery Officer Candidate School and highlight the enormous contributions its graduates made in service to the Nation. The website is a "work in progress."
The Legacy of Artillery OCS must be preserved and volunteers have been working at that for twenty years. The Artillery OCS Heritage Hall, built at Fort Sill is financed by contributions from graduates and friends of the Artillery OCS. Artillery OCS Heritage Society volunteers will continue to be at the forefront of preserving the Legacy.
